The Story |
In the early 1990's a young mother
named Marta Manning wrote a poem and a song. In her own words,
she shares the love for her children and
of the "special little place" known as "The Kiddie
Park". In 1992
her poem made its debut in an article, published in the Bartlesville
Examiner Enterprise, about "The Kiddie Park". Little
did she know that some 14 years later her poem would become such
a big part of
that "special little place".
|
| |
Ron Adams aka "Corky the Clown" and also a board member of the Kiddie
Park happened to come across this same article and read it to a group
of people at a bank forum while he was promoting a fundraiser for
the park.
|
| |
Ron asked Marta if she would be willing to let him see what he could
do to get the song produced. After giving her permission, in early
2004 he contacted some very special friends. And as they say, "The
rest is history!"

The Lyrics |
Take my hand my little man
And come along with me
To the land of cotton candy
Where the last train ride is free
|
|
Come away with me, come away with me
Where the last train ride is free
|
| |
My Peter Pan my Dapper Dan
Don't grow away from me
Always remember from May til September
The last train ride is free
|
| |
Come away with me, come away with me
Where the last train ride is free
|
| |
Come back my child and play a while
Come back home to me
And off we'll go to the Kiddie Park
Where the last train ride is free
|
| |
Come away with me, come away with me
where the last train ride is free
|
| |
Summers come and children grow
And life goes on you see
But time stands still in Bartlesville
Where the last train ride is free
|
| |
Come away with me, come away with me
where the last train ride is free
Come away with me, come away with me
where the last train ride is free
